CODDBASE

Signal Profiling for the Web

What We're Building

Coddbase is building a new kind of search engine for the era of AI agents and autonomous systems. While traditional search engines optimize for popularity and engagement, we optimize for something different: credibility. Our core innovation is signal profiling, a transparent method for evaluating sources based on observable evidence like citation patterns, authorship, methodology disclosure, and temporal relevance.

We believe the web needs infrastructure that can measure epistemic signals without making subjective judgments about truth. Like E.F. Codd gave us the relational model for organizing data in the 1970s, we're building the foundational model for evaluating information credibility in the 2020s.

Why This Matters

Search engines today were designed for humans who can evaluate quality themselves. But as AI agents begin to search, retrieve, and act on information autonomously, they need more than just relevant results. They need verifiable credibility signals. An agent ordering medication, booking flights, or making financial decisions cannot afford to treat all sources equally. The stakes are too high.

At the same time, researchers, students, and developers struggle with the same problem. Finding credible sources is hard. Verifying information is time consuming. And existing solutions either cost thousands of dollars or provide no credibility guarantees at all. We're building Coddbase to solve this for everyone, from college students working on class projects to companies deploying production AI systems.

How It Works

At the heart of Coddbase is SourceRank, our signal profiling algorithm. Instead of declaring sources as credible or not credible, we measure observable features: Does it cite primary sources? Are citations verifiable? Who authored it and what is their track record? Is methodology disclosed? How recent is the information? Are there potential conflicts of interest?

These signals are combined into transparent, auditable scores that users can interpret based on their specific needs. A researcher looking for peer reviewed papers will prioritize different signals than a developer looking for up to date API documentation. We provide the measurements. You decide what matters.

Our search engine is now live in beta. Try it at coddbase.dev/search and experience credibility-first search for yourself. We're actively improving based on user feedback.

Our Vision

We're building infrastructure for a future where AI agents are ubiquitous. Every autonomous system that needs to search, verify, or act on information will need credibility infrastructure. We want Coddbase to be that foundation, the same way DNS became foundational for the internet or SQL became foundational for databases.

In the near term, we're focused on making our search API robust and reliable. We're also exploring dataset generation services that leverage our credibility scoring to provide researchers and companies with high quality training data. But the long term vision is bigger: a web where credibility is as fundamental as URLs, where every piece of information comes with transparent provenance, and where trust is built on evidence rather than popularity.

Team

We're currently a small team working fast to validate our core technology and bring credibility-first search to more users. As we grow, we'll be looking for engineers, researchers, and builders who care deeply about information quality and want to help build foundational infrastructure for the AI era.
